Aparaloka: Scales of War
Based in Dennovar
Rhestian financial law and culture tended to reward a number of competing trade organizations.
The Fall of Rhest changed all of that.
Despite the chaos, violence, and death, long-distance trade still continued, though at a trickle. Nevertheless, money finds a way.
Formerly-independent trading concerns clustered together into the Elsir Consortium. The monopoly power provided enough funds and influence to employ enough former soldiers to guard the precious trade goods, staff the guard posts along the routes, and “disincentivize” bandits.
The Dennovar Moneychangers’ Guild was the strongest of the component organizations. Their financial acumen gives both fiscal strength and impersonality to the culture of the Consortium.
